Job Summary
The successful candidate for the Brake Parts Salesperson/Storeman role will be responsible for managing the sale and distribution of automotive parts, processing brake components for reconditioning, making hydraulic brake hoses and making bundy tubing brake pipes. With a majority of sales being placed via the phone or sales counter it is expected you will have excellent people skills that are controlled and patient whilst assisting and servicing the customer's demands. This includes interpreting part requests, filling stock orders and maintaining stock levels. Deliveries/pick ups may also be required, so a current Drivers License would be required.
Key Candidate Responsibilities
- Interpreting customer automotive parts requests - both by phone, email or at sales counters
- Selling automotive parts to customers - including quotes and invoices
- Place orders with suppliers
- Assit in the manufacturing of brake pipes, hoses and other manual tasks when required
- Providing excellent customer service
- Implementing metric and imperial system for all weights and measures
- Attention to detail when filling orders
- Deliveries
Qualifications
No qualifications are required for this role, however, experience in a similar role or industry will be highly regarded. The ability to read a manual vernier and drum/disc micrometer an advantage as well as understanding metric and imperial measurements down to a fraction of millimeters and inches. Also beneficial to the role would be the understanding of how the braking system works on vehicles. Competant computer skills also an advantage.
All training will be provided on the job. The position reports to the Manager or Assistant Manager.
The position is subject to a three month probationary period before being appointed as permanent. Within this time, the basics of the role should be under control; a good grasp of the broad business offering, strong ownershp of the role, competence across the business administration and relationships should be demonstrated. The incumbent must uphold the core values of Power Brakes and be a dedicated team member.
