The Opportunity:

  • Part-Time 0.6 EFT | Ongoing contract of employment.
  • TL $85,644 - $121,462 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
  • Moorabbin Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

 

The Electrical Department delivers pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs in electrotechnology, including specialised training in renewables and engineering at the Moorabbin campus. Using industry-standard equipment and modern teaching technologies, we provide practical, future-focused learning.

As a VET Teacher – Electrical, you will deliver Certificate II and III in Electrotechnology, applying a range of teaching and assessment strategies to engage diverse learners. Working within a collaborative team, you will support student success, maintain high-quality outcomes, and ensure training meets industry standards.

 

As a Teacher – Electrical, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and industry-relevant training in Certificate II and Certificate III Electrotechnology, using innovative teaching and learning strategies that support diverse learners.
  • Develop high-quality teaching resources and assessment tools and facilitate learning across a range of delivery modes and locations.
  • Engage with industry and workplaces through visits, training needs assessments, and tailored training solutions to ensure strong industry connections and outcomes.
  • Support and guide students throughout their learning journey, from pre-course advice and induction through to ongoing academic support and feedback.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in course evaluation, compliance processes, and professional development to maintain industry and teaching currency.

                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
  • Relevant approved vocational qualification at or above the level being delivered (e.g., Certificate III in Electrotechnology/Electrical or Diploma), and current licences, registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association (where applicable).
  • Experience designing, delivering, and assessing vocational education programs aligned with industry standards.
  • Skilled in contemporary teaching methods and digital tools to engage diverse learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex electrical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent organisational and compliance skills, including record-keeping and meeting deadlines.
  • WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
