As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and joining wooden components using various machinery and specialized tools. Your role will also include the repair, fabrication, assembly, and installation of cabinets.

Duties:

The duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine drawings, work orders, and sample parts to determine specifications.
  • Select and work with materials such as timber, veneers, particle board, and synthetic wood.
  • Operate and maintain a range of manual, automatic, and semi-automatic woodworking machinery.
  • Mark out, cut, and shape wood to create parts according to plans.
  • Assemble parts to form sections of furniture and completed items, including fitting hinges, locks, catches, drawers, and shelves.
  • Create and install cabinets, ensuring all components are properly fitted and functional.
  • Be able to comply with all work health and safety requirements
  • Assist with keeping the workshop neat, clean and organized
  • Follow directions and maintain high level of attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team but also able to work independently.
  • Able to take instructions from supervisor and follow through as required.
  • Punctual and reliable, hardworking and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Professional and positive with a can-do attitude
