 The position

Canberra Girls Grammar School is seeking applications for a Facilities and Maintenance Person.  Reporting to the Property and Facilities Manager, this role involves the general maintenance and upkeep of the CGGS school grounds, including but not limited to the following: 

·         perform routine repairs and maintenance across the school,

·         conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address issues proactively.

·         coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.

·         Maintain school grounds, including gardens, pathways, and outdoor play areas.

·         Support event setup and general logistics (e.g., moving furniture, setting up rooms).

·         Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

·         clean and maintain work machinery

·         portering duties as required

·         work in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards; manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment for repair services (as per manufacturer's service manual)

·         maintain effective communication with all members of staff, students, parents and suppliers

·         any other duties as required by the Director (Property and Facilities) and COO
