East Coast Diesels (ECD) in Maroochydore is expanding, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Heavy Diesel Mechanic who’s ready for the next step in their career. This role starts on the tools — but is designed to grow into a workshop supervisor/office leadership position.

About the Role
You’ll begin as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, working across workshop and field service jobs. As you settle in, you’ll gradually take on leadership and office responsibilities, including customer communication, job booking, workflow organisation, and parts management.
Your day may include:
- Servicing, repairs & diagnostics (workshop + on‑site)
- Maintaining a wide range of trucks and diesel equipment
- Answering customer calls and enquiries
- Booking in jobs and organising daily workflow
- Ordering parts and coordinating suppliers
- Accurate record‑keeping and timely job completion
- Safe work practices at all times
- Working independently and collaboratively
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Opportunities for career progression into management
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade certificate + 2+ years post‑trade
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Current driver’s licence (HR preferred)
- Basic welding experience/qualifications
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Confidence speaking with customers and managing bookings
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Initiative + ability to spot new business opportunities
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage workflow
- Enthusiasm and a sense of humour
