WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
An individual with ample experience in carpentry and renovation fields. One that has had exposure to all aspects of on site residential construction, and someone that doesn’t find themselves outside of their comfort zone even when faced with quite challenging assignments. A good all rounder with great team leadership abilities, good communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR DAY TO DAY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES?
- Interpret project manager set daily requirements, determine job specific construction methodologies and adopt most efficient and approved practices of execution;
- Carry out a range of scheduled carpentry related tasks as well as alternative labour intensive activities;
- Engage in cooperative problem solving and assist in coordinating and managing trades and internal staff under the supervision of a project manager;
- Update Budget Trackers, Task Trackers and other internal company data to assist the project manager in achieving KPI targets and quotas;
- Carry out ongoing quality assessment of all engaged onsite work, report results back to the relevant project manager, and enforce high quality standards and practices;
- Ensure all on site work and conditions comply with the latest OH&S standards and practices;
WHAT SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES DOES THE RIGHT CANDIDATE NEED TO POSSESS?
- Carpentry qualification and experience;
- Have good work ethic, be extremely motivated and not be afraid to carry out alternative tasks that are not directly related to carpentry;
- Be highly analytical with strong attention to detail and quality control;
- Have experience in the building industry, exhibiting good work ethic and strong leadership skills;
- Possess some residential/commercial remediation mitigation knowledge and experience (insurance building experience highly regarded, however not essential);
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and have good time management skills;
- Have a well rounded understanding of the construction industry, building processes, Australian Building Standards and Victorian Building Regulations;
- And have fair computer tech literacy, particularly within Google Suite assets like Google Calendar, Google Sheets, etc.;
