We at Power Brakes are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Machinist to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Power Brakes is a leader in the Reconditioning and Repair of brake componentry in the Automotive Industry, and we are constantly expanding and looking for new talent to help us reach new heights.

We utilize both imperial and metric systems for all measurements, and are committed to best practices in all areas of our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Interpreting worksheets to recondition brake components
• Checking fabricated and assembled parts for accuracy
• Maintaining machinery and keeping work area clean and free from hazards, with attention to safety in regard to yourself and others
• Ensuring all parts meet quality standards before assembly and are processed in a timely and professional manner
• Share equal responsibility in increasing team productivity by showing initiative and communicating effectively
• Using machinery and hand tools to fabricate parts, including Centre Turning Lathe and Boring Bars
• Clean and Paint components as required

Summary:

This is a full-time position for a Machinist role at our Gilles Plains location and subject to a 3 month probationary period before being appointed as a permanent employee. Within the initial 3 months, the basics of the role should be under control; a good grasp of the broad business offering, strong ownership of the role and competance in the duties performed.  The incumbent must uphold the core values of Power Brakes and be a dedicated team member.  If you are a person who can make decisions, solve problems, remain calm under pressure, prioritise and organise workloads to meet deadlines and have a positive attitude towards improving work practices through continual improvement, then we look forward to you joining the team.
