Parts Interpreter

We are seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter to join our team at our Rocklea, Queensland facility on a full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will be the crucial link between our customers, technical teams and parts inventory systems. Your expertise in interpreting complex parts catalogues, technical documentation and customer requirements will ensure accurate parts identification and supply. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for accuracy and efficiency in the automotive trades sector.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse customer requests, vehicle specifications and technical documentation to identify the correct parts required

• Navigate complex parts catalogues and digital databases to locate accurate part numbers and specifications

• Communicate effectively with customers, mechanics and technicians to clarify requirements and provide technical advice on parts compatibility

• Verify parts specifications against vehicle applications to ensure compatibility and prevent costly errors

• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, liaising with suppliers when necessary

• Maintain accurate records of parts requests, special orders and customer interactions

• Support the warehouse team by clearly communicating parts requirements and specifications

• Stay current with truck transmission systems, parts technology and industry developments

• Troubleshoot parts-related issues and provide solutions to customers and internal teams

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Advisor or similar role within the automotive trades, ideally in the heavy vehicle or truck sector

• Strong knowledge of truck transmissions, drivetrain components and related automotive systems

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and parts catalogues

• Experience with parts management systems and digital catalogues

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in parts identification

• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly

• Problem-solving abilities and logical thinking to resolve complex parts queries

• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests efficiently

• Valid Australian driver's licence

• Knowledge of transmission-specific parts and terminology is highly valued
