Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Hourly Rate negotiable dependent on experience/skills 

About Us: 

Brackens Field Maintenance is a mechanical repair workshop in Dalby, QLD. We specialise in repairs, rebuilds, maintenance, and servicing on your earth-moving equipment, trucks, tractors, Utes, and other commercial vehicles.

Job Description:

This role is for immediate start Monday to Friday with flexibility for Saturday work dependent on workflow.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager and working alongside other experienced mechanics you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance on a range of vehicles and heavy machinery with (duties/responsibilities) including:

• Carrying out minor & major services on a wide range of heavy machinery.
• General diagnostic & repair work on engine or mechanical faults.
• Engine & machinery rebuilds.
• Mobile/On-site field servicing & repairs.
• Componentry rebuild & repairs. 

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• • • Trade qualified with minimum of 2 years’ post trade experience.

    • Well-developed communication and customer service skills.

    • The ability to work within a team or unsupervised.

    • Commitment to a high level of workplace health and safety.

    • Diagnostic experience (CAT, Cummins, Hitachi, and Komatsu highly regarded).

    • Commitment to quality control, continuous improvement and working to schedules.

    • Problem solving skills & high attention to detail.

    • Ability to work efficiently & adhere to time frames.

    • S11 or willing to obtain.

    • Current driver’s license.

    • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.

    • A strong commitment to Brackens Field Maintenance policies & procedures.

    • Forklift ticket (or the ability to acquire one).
