About Wardrobe Refractories
Wardrobe Refractories are the high-temperature
insulation specialists that provide Australian commercial and industrial
businesses with a rapid, reliable, and efficient approach to maintaining their
essential infrastructure to ensure business stability. Some examples of units
we work on include boilers (off-the-shelf and custom), incinerators, heat
treatment furnaces, and heat reclamation. We are a small, family-owned business
focused on client satisfaction and high-quality services.
We provide tailored solutions to minimise downtime and
maximise output for small to large businesses. With Wardrobe Refractories, you
work with a team that knows the history and requirements and ensures that each
job is treated individually. We know the importance of having reliable
infrastructure, so we ensure our products and service are at the highest
standard so you have peace of mind that we can meet the demands without
unplanned downtime.
We operate mainly across Greater Sydney and
regional NSW.
About the work
Our work mainly focuses on refractories that
require our teams to work in confined spaces and warm temperatures. We cater to
greater Sydney and regional planned work, which often requires long travel and
working away from home. As we work in a niche area of infrastructure repairs
and maintenance, no two days are the same.
Work ethic, quality outputs, adaptability and
genuine care for the jobs are among the most important aspects of working here.
We often work in high-pressure and stressful situations that require high
attention to detail, on-the-spot problem solving and fast but strategic
action.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will work on-site alongside our
lead refractory installers to achieve various outcomes based on job-specific
requirements. As we are so specialised, we don’t expect you to know the ins and
outs of the units we service, so we will provide any training and support required
to meet the needs of the job. We are looking for someone willing to grow and
learn in the position with the opportunity for career progression.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in refractory repair and maintenance
- Perform custom refractory castings
- Setup and pack down of a worksite
- Organise and monitor materials on-site

- Assist other workers on-site to perform duties as required
- Operate plant and machinery, such as brick saw and pan cement mixer
- Act as a confined space hole watch
- Pick up and deliver goods to and from various sites
About You
We are looking for someone to join our team, hoping
to expand your role, skills, and responsibilities as time goes on.
The ideal candidate is:
- Committed to safety, both your own and those around you
- Team focused and proactive in coordinating with other team members
- Willing to expand and learn new skills and processes
- Previous on-site experience, refractory experience not necessary
but desirable
- Reliable, adaptable, and punctual
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- On-the-job problem solving
- Not afraid of messy work
