- TL $90,879 - $128,887 per pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Electrical Department at our Moorabbin and North Melbourne campuses delivers high-quality pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs that shape the future of the electrotechnology industry. Our mission is to inspire, develop, and support the next generation of skilled electrical trades professionals through hands-on, industry-aligned training.
At Moorabbin, we also offer specialised programs in renewables and engineering, featuring industry-standard equipment and modern teaching technologies to ensure our training remains practical, relevant, and future-focused.
We are currently seeking electrical trainers and solar trainers to join our team. We welcome applications from:
- Qualified electricians interested in delivering electrotechnology training (electrical trade qualifications are essential), and
- Solar professionals with experience in PV and battery storage systems who can deliver training in the design, installation, and maintenance of renewable energy technologies.
Solar experience is highly regarded, and applicants with the right background may contribute to training pathways that lead to Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) certification.

As a Teacher at Holmesglen, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high-quality vocational education and training programs. This includes creating engaging learning resources and assessment tools that comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (2015), relevant Training Packages, Institute Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) documents, and applicable funding and contractual requirements. You will actively facilitate all aspects of the learning process, using a range of teaching and assessment strategies to support diverse learner needs. A strong focus on learner engagement, positive outcomes, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork is essential to ensuring student success and the delivery of high-quality educational outcomes.
As a teacher, you will:
- Design and deliver engaging, high-quality electrical training using innovative teaching and assessment strategies to support diverse learners across Certificate II and Certificate III in Electrotechnology and/or solar training programs.
- Develop and maintain compliant learning resources and assessment materials across agreed units, courses, and delivery modes.
- Support student success through inclusive teaching practices, pre-course advice, assessment feedback, and targeted learning support.
- Engage with industry and the community to deliver relevant, current training and maintain industry and professional currency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance, and administrative processes, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure quality outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
- A relevant vocational qualification at least to the level being delivered and assessed, or an approved equivalent, including any required current licences or registrations.
- Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating Electrical/Electrotechnology programs with up-to-date industry knowledge and compliant learning tools.
- Skilled in contemporary teaching methods, including ICT and online resources, to engage diverse learners in an inclusive environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, ensuring compliance with policies, deadlines, and legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, building trust and collaboration with students, colleagues, and industry.
- Committed to professional development, flexibility, and a people-focused approach that supports learner success in Electrical/Electrotechnology training.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
