The Opportunity:
- Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
- TL $86,928 - $123,284 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Drummond Street Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

An ESI Trainer plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the energy sector by delivering high-quality vocational education and training. They contribute to the industry's growth by mentoring and developing the next generation of leaders, equipping learners with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a dynamic environment. Through the creation of robust learning resources and assessment tools aligned with regulatory standards—including the Standards for RTOs (2015), Training Package requirements, TAS documents, and funding agreements—they ensure educational excellence and compliance. ESI Trainers manage the full learning journey using inclusive, adaptive teaching strategies tailored to individual needs, while fostering strong industry partnerships and providing exceptional customer service. Their collaborative approach drives successful learning outcomes and reinforces their commitment to giving back to the industry through education and leadership development.
As an ESI Teacher, you will:
- Develop and implement delivery and assessment tools that meet the requirements of the Standards for RTOs 2015, relevant Training Packages, Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), Holmesglen procedures, and contractual/funding agreements.
- Apply a variety of instructional strategies and assessment techniques to support students with diverse learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and educational needs.
- Work effectively within a team environment, contributing to course coordination, departmental operations, and student support services to achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Maintain knowledge of vocational education compliance requirements, including assessment validation, student administration, course evaluation, and documentation in line with Holmesglen policies and regulatory standards.
- Actively participate in professional learning and industry consultation to ensure current vocational and pedagogical skills, licences, and qualifications are maintained for the units being delivered.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or its successor; or
- An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or
- A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:
- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.
- Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.
Desirable:
- An approved course of adult teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 or AQF Level 6 with:
- studies in adult learning methodology
- studies in teaching in a Vocational Education environment
- studies in Applied Research
- 200 hours of supervised practicum.
- A higher degree, or post graduate qualifications, in a relevant field
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
