About the Role:

Learn how to plan, develop deliver and assess quality vocational education and training in a range of
learning environments within the assigned programs.

To allow applicant who is studying to become a Trainer with valuable on-the-job experience while they are completing their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to be considered under the TUS program. The applicant needs to hold at least one of the following to be considered under TUS:

  • TAESS00007 Enterprise Trainer – Presenting Skill Set
  • TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer – Presenting Skill Set or its successor
  • TAESS00008 Enterprise Trainer – Mentoring Skill Set
  • TAESS00013 Enterprise Trainer – Mentoring Skill Set or its successor
  • TAESS00003 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set
  • TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set or its successor
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus two of the competencies listedin Item 2 of Schedule 1
  • A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education that has been recognized as
    such by Melbourne Polytechnic

The applicant also needs to:

  • Have vocational competencies at least to the level of Certificate III in Locksmithing
  • Have current industry skills directly relevant to the Locksmithing industry
  • To provide vocational current content knowledge and undertake teaching duties as requested by Program Leader.
  • To allow the applicant after successful completion of their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to become a full-time Trainer within the Building Surveying area

Duties:

Teaching:
Develop, maintain and evaluate student learning programs, projects and associated materials.
Assessment:
Conduct required pre-training assessment reviews and assessment requirements connected to contract delivery for the program/s.
Industry Engagement:
Participate in the marketing and promotion of the courses by liaise with industry contacts, networks and learning communities.
Quality and Compliance:
Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes in relation to program and course administration, design, delivery assessment and evaluation of training materials.
Vocational and Industry Currency:
Identify, create and participate in professional development relevant to teaching and the maintenance of vocational currency.

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Appropriate post-secondary qualifications together with relevant and recent industrial experience.
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
    (TAE 40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult
    language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A)
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies and a
    demonstrated high standard of teaching practice; and a commitment to learner-centred teaching.
  • Proven capacity to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines in the completion of duties and to
    work both productively, individually and within a team and to have the capacity to liaise with the
    Manager regarding student and case management issues.
  • Children Check (Employee) – mandatory.
  • Current National Police Check – mandatory.
