Workshop Boilermaker

Duties

·         Interpret technical drawings and specifications to mark out, fabricate and assemble components.

·         Perform welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication tasks to required standards.

·         Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, procedures (including WPS) and quality requirements.

·         Inspect materials and completed work, identifying and rectifying defects as required.

·         Operate and maintain welding equipment, fabrication machinery and associated tools.

·         Assist with site-based work and installations as required.

·         Work independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives and targets.

·         Actively participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

·         Promote a positive, safe and productive workplace culture.

·         Provide guidance and support to apprentices and liaise with supervisors and other trades.

·         Complete required documentation, reports and job records.

·         Perform other reasonable duties within the scope of the role as directed.

·         Take responsibility for the quality of work performed.

·         Assist with training or guidance of apprentices (where applicable).

·         Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment (housekeeping).

 Required Skills, Qualifications, Abilities and Experience

·        Minimum 3 years’ experience in Boilermaking, Pipe Fitting and/or Structural Steel.

·         Demonstrated experience working to AS/NZS 1554 and relevant fabrication and welding standards.

·         Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

·         Communication skills (written and verbal).

Licences

• Trade Certificate

• High Risk - EWP, Forklift, Dogman/Riggers tickets (desired)

• Drivers Licence (LR/HR - advantage)

• Construction Induction Card (White Card)

• Working at Heights and Confined Space (desired)

• Experience with welding (MIG/TIG) and fabrication techniques
