Elite Fleet Auto formerly known as Airlie Auto is a long standing and trusted automotive workshop in the Whitsundays. As we continue to grow and rebrand we are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our team. We are currently hiring for two positions:
- Qualified Motor Mechanic
- Qualified Auto Electrician

1. Qualified Motor Mechanic – About the Role
You will perform mechanical servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a range of on road vehicles including cars, 4WDs, and light commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Logbook servicing and general mechanical repairs
- Diagnose faults in engines, brakes, suspension, cooling systems, and drivetrains
- Use diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment
- Perform road tests to confirm repairs
- Maintain accurate job notes and follow workshop processes
- Keep a clean and safe work area (WHS compliant)
Requirements
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving ability
- Competency with workshop and diagnostic tools
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Extra licences (Air-Con/ Roadworthy) are a bonus
2. Qualified Auto Electrician – About the Role
You will diagnose, repair, and install electrical systems in cars, 4WDs, and light commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults
- Install and service alternators, starter motors, batteries, wiring & lighting
- Work with ECUs, sensors, CAN bus systems & scan tools
- Install aftermarket accessories (LEDs, radios, alarms, cameras, GPS, etc.)
- Follow workshop procedures and complete job documentation
- Read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
Requirements
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician
- Strong electrical fault finding skills
- Competency with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- ARCtick licence (prefered or willing to obtain)
