Dusty’s Heavy Diesel was established in 2014 and started out as Dusty’s Auto Electrical & Mechanical. We are a family ran business that has a solid reputation for delivering quality service to our customers. We service a range of heavy vehicles and specialise in a workshop that can deliver more than just mechanical services. Dusty’s are a Customer Service Centre for Mack, UD and Volvo Trucks. Dusty’s is also an authorised Spitwater Repair agent, Wabco and Haldex EBS Brake system Specialist.
About the Role
Dusty's requires the services of a qualified heavy vehicle fitter to join our team in our modern workshop. We are looking for keen and flexible people who will commit long term to the role. The role will be full time with occasional overtime a must.
Dusty's is dedicated to delivering first class service to its customers, therefore we are looking for someone who has a high attention to detail and a strong approach to safety.
Wages are negotiable based on qualification / experience, well above award rates.
You must have your own tools and you must have a drivers licence. A heavy vehicle licence (min MR) would be preferable.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Diagnose / Troubleshoot mechanical problems with customer vehicles.
- Maintain all equipment to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with site requirements
- Complete relevant paper work in a timely manner
- Conduct servicing, fault finding and repairs on a variety of equipment.
- Assist operations when needed
- Take on a supervisory role in the workshop for our apprentices
- Perform on-site repairs / breakdown assistance on a roster
Skills and experience
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting) (must)
- Hydraulics (basics)
- Heavy Diesel (must)
- Semi-trailers
- Electrical Systems (basics)
- Breakdown experience in the above
- Good customer relationship skills
Position available for start immediately or as negotiated.
